The Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) is the military intelligence agency of Ukraine, operating under the Ministry of Defence. Established in 1992, it is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and delivering intelligence to protect Ukraine's national security interests at home and abroad.
While the SBU focuses on domestic security and counter-intelligence, and the SZRU handles foreign intelligence, GUR specializes in military intelligence — supporting the Armed Forces with tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence for defense and combat operations.
